Honest Headlines: compare left and right news

Compare left and right news coverage — facts vs opinions, accuracy scores, and quote integrity

Honest Headlines aggregates live news from left- and right-leaning sources, clusters the same stories, separates facts from opinions, scores factual accuracy and sensationalism, and compares quotes side by side so you can see framing differences clearly.

This live dashboard is the main working surface of Honest Headlines. It pulls public RSS headlines from right-leaning and left-leaning outlets, keeps only stories from roughly the last twenty-four hours, and lays them out so you can scan framing differences without opening a dozen tabs. Each card shows the source, optional byline, publish time, and session scores for fact language, opinion language, checkable accuracy, and sensationalism—signals derived from the same heuristic pipeline used across the site.

Side-by-side comparison matters because the same public event often travels through partisan ecosystems with different emphasis. One outlet may lead with a quote, another with a policy consequence, and a third with conflict or motive. Over a news cycle those choices shape what feels urgent or settled. Honest Headlines does not pick a winner. It surfaces structure: how much of the wording looks checkable versus evaluative, how loaded the presentation is, and how outlets cluster around overlapping topics when both sides cover the same story.

Use the lean filter to show all stories, right-leaning only, or left-leaning only. Sort by recent publish time or by accuracy, sensationalism, fact ratio, or opinion ratio—similar controls to the bias tracker. Minimum score floors let you keep only cards that clear a threshold, for example higher fact language or lower sensationalism. Open any card’s fact/opinion analysis for a deeper claim breakdown, or jump to overlapping topics for coverage previews and quote comparison when both sides report the same event. Methodology and common questions live on the FAQs page.

Scores estimate checkability and framing from titles and summaries, not absolute truth. Lean labels reflect commonly reported audience tilt, not formal party membership. Always read the original article before drawing firm conclusions. Refresh the feeds when you want a new pull; the dashboard also auto-refreshes on a longer interval so the page stays current without constant manual reloads.

'Rock bottom': Red-state residents rage at Trump as they sell blood and burst into tears

Americans living in Trump country are furious about his luxurious lifestyle as they sell their own blood, hunt for free toilet paper, and try not to break down in tears, according to a New York Times report. New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof spoke with multiple red-state Americans who say they have pennies in the bank and struggle to buy basic necessities. "You do not know what you're doing to people who are struggling to live," Oklahoman Trinity Goodman said in comments directed at Trump. "You got money in the bank. You don't know how it feels to struggle. Live in my shoes for one day

Trump tantrum over 'Jan 6th slush fund' spurs uproar: 'This is outrageous'

President Donald Trump's sudden about-face on his so-called "Anti-Weaponization Fund" stunned critics who argued he threw a dangerous "tantrum" ahead of a crucial political contest. Trump's Truth Social claim — that he no longer considers his controversial $1.8 billion fund to be "dead," as he asserted at Camp David just the day before — swiftly drew criticism on Saturday morning. "Trump doesn’t have the votes for this," Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis. "Republican senators have already voted against the fund, and even more against paying rioters who beat police officers who Trump pardoned."

Trump is continuing JFK’s war on communist subversion

When President Trump reposted a video featuring President John F. Kennedy warning about subversion in America, he renewed focus on a threat we have long ignored at our peril. Spotlighting JFK’s admonition is part of the administration’s all-out attack on foreign subversion — an effort that has no presidential precedent. Its designation of Antifa and certain Muslim Brotherhood chapters as terrorist organizations was a first. The revocation of visas for foreign subversives, if carried out on a larger scale, will be unmatched in scope. Kennedy understood that peace through strength was broader th
